Our next concert

As the Christmas season draws near, we are delighted to invite you to our upcoming Christmas Concert on the 10th December - an evening of warmth, wonder, and glorious choral music.

The 140-strong choir will perform John Rutter’s deeply moving Requiem, a serene and expressive masterpiece offering moments of peace and stillness.

Alongside it, Lloyd Larson’s Morning Star turns to themes of light, hope, and renewal, capturing the joy and anticipation at the heart of the Christmas story.

Join us for an evening of music that captures both the peace and splendour of Christmas, from moments of quiet reflection to uplifting choruses full of festive cheer, all accompanied by a full orchestra.

We look forward to welcoming you as we celebrate the magic of the season together through song.

With over 140 voices united in song, the Thornden Community Choir is a vibrant, non-auditioned choir that welcomes singers of all levels. Under the inspiring leadership of Musical Director Hannalie Bekker-van der Merwe, we call Thornden Hall in Chandlers Ford our home.

For 15 incredible years, we’ve been making waves as a dynamic, versatile, and professional-sounding choir. Our repertoire is a thrilling journey through music’s greatest genres - from the timeless elegance of classical and baroque to the soul-stirring power of gospel and spirituals. We groove to jazz, rock out to pop, and bring the magic of musical theatre to life. From the rich traditions of folk and world music to the soaring melodies of film soundtracks, there’s something for everyone in our performances.
